2. Winners will be randomly determined and each win a PEZ surprise package.

Today is Austrian National Day – an important public holiday in PEZ homeland and a great opportunity to remind you all of this classic Austrian gift set featuring Sisi and Mozart.

And how about a little history?
After the end of the War, Austria was occupied by the four Allied forces (Soviet Union, United States, Great Britain, and France), who divided the country into four zones. The capital Vienna was also divided in four, with the historic central district being jointly administered by the “Allied Control Council”. Although the Austrian parliament was democratically elected, every legislative regulation or political action of the government at first required consent by the Allied Control Council and later on could still be vetoed by it.

The negotiations over a State Treaty putting an end to the occupation could finally be concluded in the spring of 1955: the Austrian State Treaty was signed on May 15, 1955, in Vienna's Schloss Belvedere and entered into force on July 27, 1955.

On October 26, 1955, the Austrian Parliament passed the constitutional law on permanent neutrality, which has been celebrated as the Austrian National day since 1965.

Hoje é o Dia Nacional da Áustria - um feriado público importante na terra natal da PEZ e uma grande oportunidade de lembrar a todos este clássico set de edição limitada com dois grandes nomes da cultura austríaca, Sisi e Mozart.

E que tal um bocadinho de história?
Após o fim da guerra, a Áustria foi ocupada pelas quatro forças aliadas (União Soviética, Estados Unidos, Grã-Bretanha e França), que dividiram o país em quatro zonas. A capital Viena também foi dividida em quatro, com o distrito central histórico a ser administrado em conjunto pelo “Conselho de Controlo Aliado”. Embora o parlamento austríaco fosse eleito democraticamente, toda regulamentação legislativa ou atção política do governo exigia, a princípio, o consentimento do Conselho de Controle Aliado e, posteriormente, ainda podia ser vetada por ele.

As negociações sobre um Tratado Estatal que põe fim à ocupação puderam finalmente ser concluídas na primavera de 1955: o Tratado Estatal Austríaco foi assinado a 15 de Maio de 1955, no Schloss Belvedere de Viena, e entrou em vigor em 27 de julho de 1955.

Em 26 de Outubro de 1955, o Parlamento austríaco aprovou a lei constitucional sobre a neutralidade permanente, que tem sido celebrada como o Dia Nacional da Áustria desde 1965.

Second-hand sales site alerts are a fantastic feature. But a terrible temptation. That's how we discovered several vintage PEZ for sale. Still, we weren't quick enough to secure as many as we'd like. But our collection has grown with these beautiful items that bring back childhood memories.

Now it's time to find the missing ones to complete the sets.
