So it is!!! Today is the day to take our faithful friend to the office. "BRING YOUR PEZ DISPENSER TO WORK DAY" began to be celebrated in 2010 and the idea was from The Providence Journal in the United States.

As we liked Japan and, in particular, more pop culture, it was almost mandatory to interview a PEZ collector from the country of the Rising Sun. This was the interview we had with Shiho Adachi, one of the most japanese effusive collectors. She even got a PEZ dispenser withe her face. Isn't it fabulous?


Introduce yourself and tell us when you started collecting?
My name is Shiho Adachi from Japan. I started collecting PEZ when I was a high school student. Long time ago.

Your first PEZ was...
Mickey Mouse.

How many PEZ do you have in your collection?
I am not sure correct number... I guess more than 5000? and I have many PEZ goods.

Is your collection just PEZ dispensers or the entire universe of this brand?
I collect dispensers and goods.

Your favorite PEZ is...
Shiho PEZ! My custom PEZ. Do you have a maximum value to give for a PEZ? And what's the most you've paid for a PEZ for your collection?
Yes. I don't remember exact price... around $500?

Where do you buy your PEZ?
Convention, supermarket and from friend.

If you were the owner of PEZ which/which ones would you like to be able to create that don't exist yet?
I would like to make a real PEZ licensed Shiho PEZ.

And this question reminds us to ask about the Japan Pez releases. Which one are your favorite and is there any anime or manga that you would like to have in PEZ?
I like Gundam series. Sailor Moon, JOJO Bizarre Adventure.

And can you talk a little about the Japanese Pez Community?
I think deep collectors are about 100 people in Japan. We hold PEZ gathering once a year. But only half day.

Many PEZ collectors collect other things. Do you collect anything else?
No. I collect only PEZ now. But I used to collect Kinder surprise and Mcdonald's meal toy.

And finally, can you give some advice to anyone who wants to get started in this world of PEZ?
It is difficult question.. Make more anime character Pez??

E colecciono dispensadores e também tenho bastante merchandise da marca PEZ.

Actualmente não. Agora só colecciono PEZ. mas já coleccionei os brindes da Kinder surprise e Mcdonald's Happy Meal.

Penso que existem muito poucos coleccionadores de PEZ no Japão. Devemos ser uns 100. Organizamos uma convenção uma vez por ano mas só tem a duração de meio dia.

E esta pergunta lembra-me uma questão sober as edições japonesas de PEZ. Quais são os teus dispensadores favoritos e se há algum dispensador PEZ que gostaves de ter?

Christmas is coming and with it, news from PEZ.
This year we will be treated to a limited edition full-body Santa Claus, a tribute to its original 1955 version. the lozenges in the middle of the face. This item has a small ribbon at the top that allows it to hang on the Christmas tree and has the particularity of having the opening for the inserts in the middle of the face. This dispenser is sold in a special box, accompanied by 6 packages of PEZ caramels. It remains to be seen whether it will reach the Europe and Portuguese market.

We hope so, as we would love to have it in our collection!

O Natal está a chegar e, com ele, novidades da PEZ.
Este ano seremos brindados com uma edição limitada do Pai Natal de corpo completo, um tributo à sua versão original de 1955. Este item tem uma pequena fita no topo que permite pendurá-la na árvore de Natal e tem a particularidade de ter a abertura para as pastilhas no meio da cara. Este dispensador é vendido numa caixa especial, acompanhado de 6 pacotes de caramelos PEZ. Resta saber se chegará à Europa e ao mercado português.
